Kata Sode Ashi Tsuri Komi Goshi

Kata-sode-ashi-tsuri-komi-goshi - Single Sleeve Leg Fishing Pull Hip

Kata-sode-ashi-tsuri-komi-goshi is another long-named technique from the kokusai-shiai-waza set of techniques. As you can tell from the video, this technique would be performed with a failed Kata-guruma attempt. Indeed, this technique is very similar with the differences being:

* The tsurite takes hold of the OUTSIDE of uke's leg.

* Tori's tsurite can grip around the knee and would not need to be as straight as in Kata-guruma.

* The throw uses more hip, and therefore uke does not travel all the way over tori's shoulders as in Kata-guruma, instead is thrown half way through.

Despite the name of this technique, I do not feel that it has much similarity to sode-tsuri-komi-goshi or tsuri-komi-goshi.
