| Ko-uchi-gake-mata-makikomi - Minor Inner Hook Thigh Winding
Ko-uchi-gake-mata-makikomi, another of the new kokusai-shiai-waza. Interestingly, this technique has been encouraged by some as a 'true' ko-uchi-gari or ko-uchi-gake, indeed this was the case for a Dan theory grading that I observed. However, possibly to show that this is a contest variation of ko-uchi-gake (where the tori would usually stay standing), this technique with a rather long name depends on the upper part of tori adding to the throw and forcing the uke over by the waist. Enter with a Ko-uchi-gake as usual, but drop your tsurite down to secure the uke's leg to yours at the thigh (mata) and wind down, starting to turn your back on your uke and forcing them backwards, causing uke to tumble to the floor. |
