O Uchi Gari - into:
Tate Shiho Gatame

Renraku Waza

O-uchi-gari into Tate-shiho-gatame

In performing this technique, the tori needs to keep their chest to their opponents chest as much as possible. It is important for the tori to remove their leg from inside the uke's leg to the outside to trap and prevent the uke's movements as swiftly as possible.

It helps if the tori's tsuri-te is higher around the collar and the hiki-te pushes the uke's arm up and the hiki-te can then wrap around quickly. To achieve a Tate-shiho-gatame with both arms, follow the same movement and position the second arm after the hold is on.
